Yes, absolutely. We should get to have this conversation as much as we need and until the problems reduce: well-meaning as some of the comments you mention are, most of them are derailing to some degree or another, either by turning the problem back on the victim or by making it about problems harassment causes for men. I, for one, am tired of having to footnote (virtually speaking) more or less everything I say on this with comments about yes, most men are fine, and yes some people are gormless and yes it's Tuesday etc etc.
And harassment can take other forms than unwanted touching/attention (though heaven knows we get too much of that): there's the guy who talks over women or silences them. There's the guy who assumes any woman present will fetch coffee, take notes and be nice; there's the guy who ignores women who offer ideas (but may use the ideas himself later), women who want to ask questions, women who might have something to say...
It *is* getting better, though slowly. I try and take some comfort from that, because I seem to have been fighting this battle in fandom my whole adult life. (I was 15 the first time a man creeped me out at a con.)
